PRESS RELEASE

Earlier this morning at around 12:30 am, Officer Vincent Wittman was dispatched to the emergency room at Monmouth Medical Southern Campus regarding a gunshot victim that was just dropped off.

Upon arrival Officer Wittman was advised by the victim, a 23 year old Maryland man, that he was hired to DJ an event in Howell.

After the event was over, he was directed to meet at the High Point Condominium Complex for payment. While waiting, he and a 23 year old female companion from Lakewood, was approached as they sat in their car.

The suspects described as two black males spontaneously opened the door and demeaned their belongings. The victim stated that when he refused to comply, one of the men shot him once in the abdomen.

After being wounded the victim handed over their cell phones and his wallet. Immediately after the suspects fled on foot and the female drove the victim to the hospital.

According to hospital officials the victim was stable but was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for further testing.
